"Save the Date: 21 – 25 October 2019

The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) is pleased to invite you to Save the Date for the 70th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) to take place in Washington D.C., United States from 21 – 25 October 2019. The IAC 2019 will be hosted by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), an IAF Member since 1952.

With the theme "Space: The Power of the Past, the Promise of the Future", the IAC 2019 provides a focus for the international space community to reflect on its accomplishments since the landmark Apollo Moon landing and to imagine the future of this global enterprise. The capital of the United States will be the place to be to properly celebrate the 50th anniversary of this extraordinary engineering, scientific, and political achievement as well as the international accomplishments and partnerships that have become the hallmarks of space exploration.

The IAC 2019 will also be a unique occasion to celebratethe 70th anniversary of this congress, a one-of-a-kind event which, since its creation, not only gathers year after year an exceptional amount of space professionals to dig deeper into what can be done in space, but also continuously draws the general public's attention to space and its undeniable benefits for humankind.

The IAC is a professional event that supports the International Astronautical Federation in its mission to advance knowledge about space and to foster the development of space assets by facilitating global cooperation.

Washington ist mir dann doch etwas zu weit. Aber 2020 in Paris könnte ich mir mit dem Thalys aus Köln durchaus wieder vorstellen.

Ich fürchte der Thalys fährt erst 2021 nach Paris. Denn in diesem Jahr findet dort der IAC statt. 2020 fliegt Emirates nach Dubai zum IAC.

Dann kann ich ja noch ein Jahr länger sparen.

In nur noch vier Tagen beginnt die Konferenz aber mit dem "Space Generation Congress" beginnt eine Vorveranstaltung schon heute.

Außerdem nimmt die Berichterstattung langsam fahrt auf. Auf Twitter z.b. unter dem #IAC2019

Bisher hab ich leider kein detailliertes Programm gefunden sondern nur die Übersichtsseite.
Ein Livestream der Sessions scheint nur gegen eine 20$ Gebühr möglich zu sein :/

Das ist mir leider zu weit und zu teuer... Übernächstes Jahr in Paris ist aber fest eingeplant.

Noch einmal der Link zu den geplanten Livestreams (die man dann mehrere Monate lang abrufen kann).
Da es sich um einen Kongress für die Profis handelt (in Bremen kosteten die Tickets zwischen 900 und 1.400 €) sind pro einzelnem Stream 20 € fällig.
Wobei der Preis sinkt, wenn man mehrere Streams bucht, 5 gibt es für 75 €, 10 für 133,33 €, 15 für 175 und alle 20 für 200 €.
