der Satellit hat ja ein Gewicht von 5,2 t und das für diese schlanke *Zenit-3SL*, beachtlich.

Laut meinen Quellen wiegt der Satellit nur 4,682 kg. Aber der schwerste Satellit der mit der Zenit-3SL gestartet wurde wog 6 Tonnen, also wirklich beachtlich, was diese "kleine" Rakete schafft.

@paygar: Ich hab´ wirklich den Realplayer am laufen. Jetzt ist es etwas besser geworden. Habe alles nochmal neu gestartet.

Zweite Zündung der Block-DM Stufe!

Das Triebwerk der Block DM-SL hat zum zweiten mal gezündet und wird den Satelliten hinauf auf seinen geostationären Orbit bringen.
Alle Parameter normal.

So, jetzt hat auch die Block DM Stufe ihre arbeit getan.
in zehn Minuten wird der Satellit ausgesetzt.

Aber irgendwie macht mein Webcast grad ein paar Probleme.

Satellit ist ausgesetzt, damit ist die Mission der Zenit-3SL und von Sea Launch erfolgreich abgeschlossen

das war dann der 6. erfolgreiche Start einer *Zenit-3SL*, sehr gut.

Dann können wir ja den nächsten Start einer *Zenit-3SL* mit dem Satelliten *NSS 8* im Dezember 2006 erwarten.

Es war erst der fünfte Start in diesem Jahr, und der neunte erfolgreiche Start in Folge.
die Satelliten der XM-Reihe haben noch lustige Namen.

da bin ich ja mal auf die nachfolgenden Satelliten gespannt!
Mal sehen ob Sea Launch es noch schafft einen weitere Mission in diesem Jahr erfolgreich zu Starten. Ihc hoffe mal drauf. So eine gute Nacht wünsche ich, bei uns ist morgen Reformationstag. und ich kann ausschlafen. So kirchlich Feiertage haben gute Seiten. ;-) auch wenn man nicht dran glaubt.

jau, erst 5, ich hatte den Start für Dezember 2006 schon als Erfolg mitgezählt.

Die *Zenit-3SL* hat jetzt seit dem 28. März 1999 insgesamt 23 Starts hingelegt, wobei der erste Start am 28.3.99 nur mit *Dummy* war und 1 Start ging daneben.

Der Fehlstart war am 12. März 2000 mit *ICO F-1* aufgrund des Versagens der Block-DM Stufe, aber es gab noch einen Teilerfolg am 29. Juni 2004 mit *Telstar-18*, dort konnte die Rakete nicht den angepeilten Orbit erreichen.

The spacecraft did not reach the planned GTO, as the upper stage of the launch vehicle underperformed, reaching an apogee of only 21000 km instead of 36000 km. The spacecraft was put into a geostationary orbit by its thrusters, with even enough fuel left to exceed the planned 13 years lifetime.

jau, das war mir bekannt; da aber der Satellit doch an seine angestammte Position kam, habe ich das nicht so gerechnet.
In der Bewertung müßte es natürlich als *Teilerfolg* gewertet werden.

Stimmt, ich mach halt bei Wikipedia immer diese Startlisten und da wird man für diese Unterschiede etwas sensibilisiert. ;-)

Sea Launch has successfully completed five missions in 2006 - EchoStar X on February 15, JCSAT-9 on April 12, Galaxy 16 on June 18, Koreasat 5 on August 21, and XM-4 on October 30. We are now preparing for our next launch in January, the first of six missions planned for 2007. Also in 2007, watch for the first of our Land Launch missions, out of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Also in diesem Jahr erfolgt kein Start mehr, der nächste ist erst für Januar 2007 geplant, aber im nächsten Jahr soll es dann sechs erfolgreiche Starts geben.
Was aber noch wichtiger ist, es gibt im nächsten Jahr auch die erste Land Launch Mission, wo die Zenit Raketen von Baikonur aus starten.

Mit dieser erfolgreichen Mission schließe ich nun den Thread hier. Zum Abschluß noch den Pressemitteilung von Sea Launch zum Start. Wie schon geschrieben gibt es den nächsten Start einer Zenit-3 erst 2007, dann aber sowohl Sea - als auch LandLaunch.
Aber am 16. Dezember soll von Baikonur noch eine Zenit-2 starten mit Tselina-2 starten, da gibt es aber noch keine Infos zu.

Long Beach, Calif., October 30, 2006 –Sea Launch Company today successfully delivered the XM-4 broadcast satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO). Early data indicate the spacecraft is accurately positioned and in excellent condition.

A Zenit-3SL vehicle lifted off at 3:49 pm Pacific Standard Time (23:49 GMT) from the Odyssey Launch Platform, positioned at 154 degrees West Longitude in the equatorial Pacific. All systems performed nominally throughout the flight. The Block DM upper stage inserted the 5,193 kg (11,448 lbs.) spacecraft into geosynchronous transfer orbit, on its way to final orbital position of 115 degrees West Longitude. A ground station at Hartebeesthoek, near Pretoria, South Africa, acquired the first signal from the satellite in orbit.

Built by the Boeing Satellite Development Center, the Boeing 702 spacecraft carries a high-power S-band Digital Audio Radio Service (DARS) payload provided by Alcatel Alenia Space. Like the three XM satellites currently in orbit, XM-4 will support XM Radio’s direct broadcast of digital radio programming to cars, homes and portable radios throughout the continental United States and Canada.

Following the completion of the XM-4 mission, Rob Peckham, president and general manager of Sea Launch, congratulated XM Satellite Radio. "Successfully launching this fourth satellite for XM Radio is extremely satisfying for Sea Launch. The success of the XM-4 mission reconfirms a strong and valuable relationship between two goal-oriented companies. We are proud to be XM Satellite Radio’s launch service provider of choice."

"I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate the Sea Launch team for another outstanding mission. Without the team’s expertise and dedication to excellence, we could not have realized today’s significant accomplishment."

The XM-4 satellite will have 18 kilowatts of total power at the beginning of life on orbit. Specified for a 15-year lifespan, Sea Launch’s direct insertion into equatorial orbit is designed to yield additional years of service life. This is Sea Launch’s fourth successful launch for XM Satellite Radio, completing previous missions in March 2001, May 2001 and February 2005.
