Servus zusammen,

da ich zur Zeit an der Ostküste unterwegs bin werd ich hier mal alle Bilder einstellen die ich so "raumfahrttechnisch" gemacht habe bzw. noch machen werde; in den USA is in jedem Museum irgendwas was was mit Raumfahrt zu tun hat; eine Kapsel auf der USS Intrepid oder eine Hitzeschutzkachel im Smithonian Information Center!
Besonders beeindruckend was das Smithonian Museum of Air and Space in Washington, stellenweise hats mir hier sogar besser gefallen als in den Ausstellungen am KSC! Wenn Fragen zu den Bildern sind einfach melden, vielleicht komm ich noch zum kommentieren...

So, vorgestern und gestern im ksc bzw hall of fame; geil::::))))

highlight natürlich discovery auf launchpad 39A!! (tour ksc today and tomorrow) man kommt zwar weniger nah ran als ich dachte, trotzdem mein persönliches highlight.

IMAX war auch toll, shuttle zum anfassen;)
komischerweise sind hier alle voll auf dem constellation-ares-trichter!!
steh grad in der warteschlange fürs IMAX:

sohn: daddy could the shuttles fly to the moon too??
vater: yes of course, the only problem is that there is no landing facility on the moon!!!


Ansonsten war noch der shuttle start simulator interessant gemacht,obwohls doch etwas kitschig und unrealistisch gemacht war...

zum kommentieren komm ich hoffentlich wenn ich wieder daheim bin!

Brauchst nur mal auf das nächste Bild zu schauen.
Auf der Tafel neben der Flex steht es.

Zum durchtrennen der Payloadbaymechanik bei Ausfall.
Damit man die Doors manuell schließen kann.

Servus,

die "Flex" ist in der Astronaut Hall of Fame ausgestellt; laut Beschreibung ist es dazu da, im Notfall die Bolzen, die die Tore der Payloadbay offen halten zu durchtrennen, um diese dann manuell schließen zu können!
Sieht recht witzig aus, zumal es augenscheinlich eine normale Flexscheibe in der Aufnahme hat!
