Bei Eumetsat gibt es in ftp.eumetsat.int/pub/EUM/out/USD/videos/mpg_vol_ash_europe/ Videos, die die Ausbreitung der Vulkanasche von Eyjafjallajoekull zeigen.

hier Ergebnisse und Bilder von dem Jülicher Forschungszentrum.
 Mit einem Laserstrahl des stationierten LIDAR-System
wird die vertikale Ausdehnung der Aschewolke erforscht.
Der Anteil des aus der Atmosphäre zurückgestreuten Lichtes
wird der Verlauf der Wolke erforscht.
